Craps Payouts – Learn how to spot the best Payouts for Craps. Craps payouts and craps true odds are essential for players who are eager not only to enjoy a few sessions of this dice game but who also wish to win some cash. However, not all players are experts when it comes to the math behind odds and craps payouts. Proposition Bets: Any 7 Any Craps 7 to 1 Two Craps or Twelve Craps Three Craps or Eleven: 4:1 7:1 30:1 15:1: Don't Pass Lay Odds/Don't Come Lay Odds Lay Bets: point is a 4 or 10 point is a 5 or 9 point is a 6 or 8: 1:2 2:3 5:6: Tall Bet Small Bet All Bet: All numbers in the set are rolled before a 7 appears: 34:1 34:1 174:1: Hop Bets: All. Lay Bets A lay bet, also called laying odds, is the opposite of an odds bet. It’s like laying odds on a don’t pass line bet minus the same 5 percent commission. Also like the above buy bet, this does not translate to the 5 percent house edge.

Most people know about keys to the stuff in the middle, hi-lo-yo stuff, etc, but today on craps someone threw in $700 to lay against the 8 and the box pretty much knew immediately that the vig was $28 where $560 wins $672. He said he had a key that he figured out himself and he wouldn't share it. I managed to get out of someone else that for this one it involves getting 4% of the amount to calculate the vig, 20 times that amount ($560) to determine what you win, and from here you can pretty easily figure out what to pay. ($500 wins $600, $60 wins $72). He refuses to share the others out of arrogance. What would they be for 4/5/9/10? It's probably not hard to figure out but I don't know where to start.

Sorry. I posted up something, but I don't think I'm qualified to answer this.

5/9, 4%*16. 4/10, 4%*12. I did it all in my head, might be wrong.

The website is no more but it had zillions of keys for craps dealers. See if anyone downloaded them prior to the website's demise.
I think it was called TheCrapsDealersLounge.Com or DealersLounge.Com

I am assuming they want to keep 4% of your bet, so if you were to pass over 100, that would mean the bet is 96. The true odds is 5/6, so the true payout for 96 is 80. 80 happens to be 4/5ths of the original amount.
So the vig is 4% of the bet and the payout is 80% of the bet, i.e. $28 and $560.
Interestingly in the UK, a lay bet on the 6 or 8 pays 4/5!

Craps Lay Bets Payouts

Vig should be paid on the WIN for a lay bet, not the BET. I haven't been following them math on this thread, but that is how it has always been done with me. Sometimes an ignorant/slimy (take your pick) pit boss will try to change me 5% on the bet, and I will correct them.
Lay the 4 for $1000? Vig is $25. (Win is 1/2 or $500, 500*.05=25)
If you purposely make the math hard for the crew, don't be upset if they fuck you.

Go to a different casino! (You haven't played EVERY place!)

Check the Wizard's page and scroll down to the section on Lay bets. It's definitely supposed to be 5% on the win amount. You have been getting hosed, I'm sorry. If you find a place doing this and after correcting the dealer they still disagree with you, and the pit boss does not agree that you are correct, find a different casino! A certain amount can be allowed for forgetfulness, but I've never had a house refuse to change it once I pointed out their error.

At my casino, it's absolutely paid on the bet and not the win. We collect the vig if it wins in preparing for the next bet, too.

The hop bet cannot be defined as the most common or the most popular. It is actually a fairly rare, verbal bet that can be made on any combination of numbers. Although one cannot place a hop bet on the table, it is available in a great number of casinos.

What makes the hop bet unique is that this is the only bet given to the Boxman. The other bets are usually given to the standing dealers, the Stickman or the player is making the bet by himself.

Hop bets are used mainly when someone has developed their very own signature roll. If you have some experience with playing craps, it should not be a problem for you to identify it. For example, the shooter places big bets on certain numbers. If he buys the 4 or 10 for $50 and the point is six, you can hop it and enjoy a fantastic payout.

How Hop Bets Work?

For instance, you believe the combination 4 and 1 will appear the next time the dice are rolled, so you tell the dealer you would like to place a bet for “4 & 1 hopping”. If 4 and 1 appear indeed, you win. You lose in case any other combination appears. If you bet on a pair, for example, 5-5, and the next roll actually shows 5-5, the payout will be 29:1 or 30:1 depending on the house rule. If you are paid 30:1, the house edge is 13.29%. If you are paid 29:1, the house advantage is 16.67%, which is not really favorable to the player.

If you place a bet on numbers that are not a pair, 4-5 for instance, it means there are two possible combinations that can be rolled. In this case, the payout will be 15:1 or 14:1. So, if you bet $5 on 4 and 1 hopping and these numbers do appear, you win $75.

One of the greatest advantages of hop bets is that they enable you to win much more than the standard payouts for craps. Technically, the hop bet resembles the Hard Way and the Easy Way bets although there are several key differences.

First of all, the payout is much more generous as compared to the hard and easy way bets. Plus, the hop bet is a single roll bet.

Let's presume you want the shooter to roll and land the combination of 4 and 1, which is the same as soft or easy 5. As there are two combinations that can be rolled, the rolling odds should be 17:1, while the payout odds should be 15:1. In this case, the house edge is 11.11%.

Let's illustrate how hop bets work by drawing another example.

You would like to wager on the dice combination 4,4, which is the same as hard eight. However, the payout for hard eight is 9:1, while the payout odds for hop bet are 30:1. Yet, you should not underestimate the house edge that is 13.89%.

However, it is important to remember that the hardway hop (30:1) is valid for one roll only, while the standard hardway bet, which pays 7:1 or 9:1 remains valid until it wins or loses.

You are also advised to make sure your casino of choice actually pays 30:1 on hardway hops because some casinos have a policy of paying them 15:1.

As far as disadvantages of hop bets are concerned, the house edge is considered a major setback along with the fact that the combinations that can be rolled are so numerous that the chance of hitting the exact combination you wagered on is less than compared to your chances when choosing another type of bet.

Craps Lay Bets Payout Against

Let's proceed with a suggestion of hopping the seven on the comeout.

Craps Come Bet Odds Payout

This is not a common practice, indeed, but if you are determined to win big, you should definitely consider it. Technically, there are three ways to hit 7, including 2 & 5, 1 & 6, 3 & 4, which means your bets should be in multiples of $3. You are advised to opt for the $3 progression. That is particularly applicable when the shooter places a considerable bet on the passline.
